Hi there, we are Josh and Taylor…nice to meet you! Our journey began in 2011, when we first met at a church event on St. Paddy’s Day and has been exciting ever since. Taylor had the country living upbringing while Josh had more of the city/suburb life. From the beginning, we both enjoyed doing projects together…from gardening, to canning tomatoes, to various DIY projects.
Jumping ahead, we started life as husband and wife in 2016 and pretty much from that time forward we have been slowly migrating to a self-sufficient and simple lifestyle. It started with the purchase of our home, then the garden, then the dogs, the bigger garden, followed by chickens, the greenhouse, the woodshop and the woodstove. It’s funny how life happens sometimes and brings into focus those things that are most important.
Our ambition now, as reminded in scripture, is to live a quite life where we do our own work with our own hands. We couldn’t have predicted the last 7 years so we are not about to predict the next 7 years, but our vision is to cultivate our skills in growing, preserving, and building. We will do our best to share our progress (including the mistakes) along the way and hope to encourage others to join us in this journey towards self-sufficiency and simple living.
